A rare purple hare’s-fur variant formed in the Hundred-Meter Skyward Dragon Kiln. Fine flame-drawn streaks radiate from the center across a dark iron-rich glaze, producing a layered crystalline structure typical of high-temperature wood firing.
Under direct light, the glaze reveals a pronounced metallic luster created by iron-rich microcrystalline formations. In softer lighting, directional reflections diminish and deeper purple tones emerge from the glaze body. The surface retains a subtle mineral texture from natural crystallization during firing, giving the piece both visual depth and tactile character.
Handmade in Shuiji Town, Jianyang, Fujian, using local iron-rich clay and naturally iron-bearing mineral glaze.
