Indigo Heart captures one of the rarest effects born from the Skyward Dragon Kiln—an indigo core emerging from the fusion of iron glaze and wood ash. The transition from bronze-gold to deep blue recalls the moment when fire, having ascended through the kiln’s rising chambers, gathers its light and returns to stillness.
Within this depth, a quiet radiance stirs—a resonance reminiscent of Van Gogh’s night skies, where motion breathes within stillness and light lingers in shadow. Each vessel bears its own subtle variation shaped by flame, ash, and gradient of heat. In this year’s wood-fired sessions, only fifty were successfully born with a complete indigo return—each a testament to the unpredictable grace of the Skyward Dragon Kiln.
Handmade in Shuiji Town, Jianyang, Fujian, with local iron-rich clay and naturally iron-bearing mineral glaze.
