This Jian Zhan presents a classic hare’s-fur structure formed through wood firing in a 100-meter Skyward Dragon Kiln.
Under high-temperature reduction, iron phases within the glaze separate and elongate along the direction of flow, creating fine downward crystallization within the glaze layer. The interior develops a darker, more concentrated zone through localized reduction.
The coarse clay body, combined with prolonged wood firing, contributes to a grounded and mineral-driven character, reflecting a more rustic and time-worn expression within traditional Jian ware.
Each piece is fully handmade and individually formed.
