Formed in the sustained high-temperature environment of a 100-meter Skyward Dragon Kiln, this piece reflects the structural complexity of large-scale wood-fired Jian Zhan. The extended firing path, natural ash interaction, and alternating oxidation–reduction atmosphere allow the iron-based glaze to undergo continuous transformation during firing, producing a multi-layer crystalline structure.

Unlike controlled electric firing, the Skyward Dragon Kiln introduces shifting thermal gradients and dynamic flame flow throughout the firing cycle. These conditions drive localized variations within the glaze, forming distinct structural zones determined by position, heat exposure, and timing. Each result is inherently non-repeatable.

This work represents a structure-driven kiln transformation formed under long-duration wood firing, where material composition and kiln dynamics jointly define the final outcome.
