A Gaiwan wood-fired in a compartmented dragon kiln, defined by full vitrification and mineral ash integration beneath the glaze surface.

Individually released from the same firing.

Fired at approximately 1100 °C, this piece develops through a flame-driven process where ash carried by wood firing becomes incorporated into the glaze melt. The resulting glaze belongs to the jade-type system, characterized by a stable glassy structure and sub-surface mineral distribution.

Subtle natural crackle may be present, formed during cooling as part of the glaze-body interaction, adding depth to the surface over time.

Color outcomes vary naturally across firings depending on kiln position and atmosphere. This specific green range is less frequently achieved within this firing system and cannot be consistently reproduced, making comparable results uncommon.

Handmade in Shuiji Town, Jianyang, Fujian, using local iron-rich clay and naturally occurring mineral glaze.

Matching cups from the same firing will be released in limited quantities.
