A matched gaiwan set from a 100-meter Skyward Dragon Kiln is rare. Each piece is fired under shifting flame, ash, and atmosphere, making consistent glaze and tone difficult to achieve across lid, bowl, and saucer. This set was selected post-firing for its overall coherence.
The glaze shows a unified iron-rich base with natural crystallization and jade-like crackle formed under flame-driven conditions. Subtle variation between components is present, while the overall tone remains aligned. The clay body retains a dry, mineral surface typical of high-temperature wood firing.
Handmade in Shuiji Town, Jianyang, Fujian, with local iron-rich clay and naturally iron-bearing mineral glaze.
