This DewDaisy Jian Zhan is wood-fired in a traditional dragon kiln in Jianyang, Fujian, using iron-rich native clay and natural mineral glaze. Under prolonged high-temperature firing and a fluctuating oxidation–reduction atmosphere, iron crystallization develops across the glaze surface.
This piece presents a dense surface crystallization with a subtle central concentration rather than a fully defined radial “daisy” structure. Such variation reflects the natural range of outcomes within wood-fired tea-dust glazes, where crystallization density and distribution are governed by kiln position, heat flow, and local atmosphere rather than controlled repetition.
The result is a stable, high-density crystallization layer formed through natural kiln dynamics, representing a non-uniform but technically sound expression within the DewDaisy category.
