DaisyFlare is a tea-dust glaze expression within the Daisy Series, formed through traditional dragon-kiln wood firing. During the firing cycle, variations in flame path, ash fall, and kiln atmosphere influence how iron crystals develop within the glaze.
Across its russet-toned surface, iron crystals expand into radiating petal-like structures that define the characteristic “daisy” pattern of this variation. In some firings, a faint cool-toned halo may appear near the base where airflow and ash interaction create localized kiln conditions.
Each piece reflects the natural variability of dragon-kiln wood firing, where temperature, atmosphere, and flame movement together determine the final crystalline pattern.
Handmade in Shuiji Town, Jianyang, Fujian, using local iron-rich clay and naturally iron-bearing mineral glaze.
