A classic hare’s-fur Jian Zhan wood-fired in the 100-meter Skyward Dragon Kiln of Jianyang, Fujian. During firing, flame movement, oxygen variation, airborne ash, and kiln position interact continuously, shaping the development of iron crystallization across the glaze.
Dense hare’s-fur streaks radiate outward from the dark central eye across an amber-russet glaze surface. The crystalline lines remain clear and continuous, a structure rarely preserved with such stability in traditional dragon-kiln firing.
The body fires to a deep purplish-brown tone reminiscent of fine Yixing clay. Around the foot, several natural glaze tears record moments of intense kiln atmosphere—distinct traces of the large mountain dragon kiln where flame and gravity shape the final surface.
Handmade in Shuiji Town, Jianyang, Fujian, using locally sourced iron-rich clay and natural iron-bearing mineral glaze.
